Joe Oehmke

Hi! I'm Joe, ops and strategy leader with 10+ years experience advising, leading, and growing high-performing tech companies. I'm passionate about building strong teams and processes to help companies scale quickly and sustainably. 

Here's how I approach my work.

Prior to my current role as COO at an emerging AI platform, I was the first employee at Unit, the leading embedded finance platform, where I spent 5+ years building the company to a $1.2B Series C valuation (2023) and $35M+ ARR. My roles during that time included Chief of Staff, VP Operations, and head of bank relationships; and over the years I managed our Success, Support, Business Operations, and Platform teams, among other responsibilities (startup life! many hats!).  

I have a background in law, consumer financial protection, and strategic consulting. I'm passionate about using technology to create better tools and a more inclusive financial system. 

In my free time, I'm probably playing with my kids, reading (recommendations welcome!), or running (join me on the Central Park loop!).
