Joe Oehmke

Hi! I'm Joe, currently Chief of Staff at Unit, the leading embedded finance platform. We make it easy for tech companies to build financial features into their products, delivering more value to their customers. We're working hard to expand access to banking services to hundreds of businesses and the millions of customers they serve. Here's what we value at Unit.

I joined Unit in June 2020 as its second employee and first Director of Operations. In that role, I spent two years building and leading our Success, Support, and Business Operations functions, among a variety of other responsibilities (startup life! many hats!).  Here's how I approach my work.

I have a background in law, consumer protection, and strategic consulting. I'm passionate about using technology to create a more inclusive financial system and I'm excited to be building the company that's making fintech 2.0 possible. 

In my free time, I'm probably running (join me on the Central Park loop!), reading (for personal or professional growth – recommendations welcome!), writing about fintech, or traveling with my family.
